An exciting opportunity to champion progressive vocal music-making across our communities as maternity cover from September 2026 to July 2027. In this role you will lead the delivery of high-quality vocal provision across 150 schools, helping to shape and enrich children’s lives through music.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of tutors to deliver outstanding vocal music provision in and beyond school settings.
  • Oversee after-school choirs, Saturday Music School sessions and support one-to-one vocal learning.
  • Lead singing assemblies and act as the vocal lead for high-profile performance events, including the three-day Christmas Festival series and the A Musical Rebellion programme culminating in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in June 2027.
  • Provide specialist leadership for strategic vocal development, training and supporting tutors and school-based teachers.
  • Lead the Youth Voice Council to ensure young people’s perspectives shape musical work and strengthen connections with non-formal settings such as youth clubs.
