Merton Music Foundation is seeking a new Ensembles & Events Leader on a part‑time (0.8) or full‑time basis. The role supports children’s music education in South London through leadership of ensembles and management of performance opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic direction for the Foundation’s Music Centre ensembles.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage the calendar of concerts and events.
  • Lead weekly ensemble(s) and oversee day‑to‑day operations.
  • Facilitate inclusive musical learning in youth settings.
  • Handle administrative and practical duties related to programme delivery.

Qualifications

  • Highly organised, self‑driven musician or educator.
  • Experience in inclusive youth musical learning and/or music events management.
  • Leadership experience with an ensemble or similar group.
  • Proficiency in woodwind, string, piano or a jazz background is preferred.

Employment Details

  • Location: London, SW19
  • Start date: September 2026
  • Working pattern: Part‑time (0.8) or full‑time, predominantly term‑time with some out‑of‑term work, frequent Saturday and occasional evening hours. Remote working may be arranged by agreement.
