Bexley Music is seeking versatile and committed instrumental tutors and curriculum music teachers to deliver high quality music education. The role includes music tuition and leading ensembles across Bexley Primary, Secondary and SEND/AP schools and at our Music Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1‑1 lessons and small group instrumental teaching as required.
- Teach whole class instrumental/ensemble tuition and whole class music curriculum lessons.
- Plan and organise lessons, rehearsals and performances, adapting resources to meet the needs of the class, student or group.
- Lead and inspire students; encourage perseverance, develop leadership skills and motivate students to practice outside lesson time.
- Encourage participation in Bexley Music groups and ensembles.
- Maintain student reporting and complete necessary administration.
- Attend meetings and training; liaise with schools, staff and parents as appropriate.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong passion for music and ability to enthuse students.
- Experience delivering outstanding music curriculum and instrumental lessons in varied settings.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Understanding of the National Curriculum for Music and ability to plan accordingly.
- Excellent written and spoken English; statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 applies.
- Awarded a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure and other employment checks.
