Lincolnshire County Council is looking for an experienced leader to become the Head of the Lincolnshire Music Service. As the lead partner for the Lincolnshire Music Hub, you will support music provision in approximately 95% of schools in Lincolnshire, working with a highly skilled workforce of 80 instrumental tutors alongside a further 40 commissioned professionals and partner organisations. Through strong, trusted partnerships with schools, families and communities, you will champion the power of music to inspire, connect and transform the lives of all young people.
Key responsibilities
- Shape, develop and lead the future of music education in Lincolnshire, building on an established, high‑quality programme of services while driving innovation and growth.
- Support music provision across the county and coordinate the work of the workforce and partner organisations.
- Lead strategic planning and governance of the Music Service, ensuring it continues to thrive, innovate and make a meaningful difference for children and young people.
- Develop and maintain collaborative, outward‑facing relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, navigating change with creativity, resilience and clarity of purpose.
- Promote high‑quality, inclusive music provision, applying sound judgement, financial awareness and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Working arrangements
- Hybrid working, around three days per week office‑based at the Lincolnshire Music Service headquarters in Cherry Willingham. The office offers excellent facilities and parking. Some days may be worked from home.
Salary
- Pay: Soulbury Scale from 16 to 20 plus 3 SPA points.
Contract type
- Full‑time permanent.
