Hourly salary £29.86 (inclusive of 15.5% Holiday Pay). This peripatetic vocal teacher position may also involve teaching a second instrument. Salary equates to £9,853 per year based on 10 hours per week, 33 academic weeks. Hours may vary; currently scheduled for 10 hours per week in East Surrey.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual, group and whole class vocal lessons during school hours, after school and weekends across various schools and venues in Surrey.
  • Teach a second instrument if capable.
  • Adapt teaching style to student age and ability, providing challenge and independence.
  • Prepare students for music exam specifications and exams where appropriate.
  • Use email and web‑based platforms for communication.
  • Comply with safeguarding policies and support student welfare.
  • Travel around the county to meet teaching demands.
  • Work flexibly to accommodate changes in teaching schedules.

Qualifications

  • Recognised music diploma/degree or equivalent professional experience.
