Gloucestershire Music is seeking a highly skilled and passionate ensemble instructor to lead the Gloucestershire Youth Wind Orchestra (GYWO), our top County wind ensemble.
This post will support Gloucestershire Music in achieving high quality music education by effectively supporting, tutoring, instructing or coaching young musicians. This role will primarily involve leading our award winning, highest county level wind orchestra which meets 6.45 - 8.45pm over 30 Thursdays per year during term-time at Barnwood Park School, Gloucester. Membership of GYWO is open to young musicians grade 6+ standard by teacher/school nomination or trial rehearsal period. The orchestra will have multiple, high quality concert opportunities throughout the year, with repertoire spanning across the range of wind orchestra repertoire.
This position requires someone who possesses the skills to motivate and inspire young musicians to aspire to the highest standards of performance. This post would suit somebody with experience of leading such ensembles and who has a passion for youth music. The successful candidate will be working in collaboration with the Extended Learning and Provisions Manager and the Head of Service for Gloucestershire Music.
