Bromley Youth Music Trust is seeking a Trustee with secondary senior leadership experience to join our Board and help shape the future of inclusive, high‑quality music education across Bromley.

About the Role

Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior leadership experience in a secondary school, ideally as a Headteacher (serving or recently retired)
  • Strong understanding of the secondary education landscape, accountability, curriculum, inspection, and school improvement
  • Experience of strategic decision‑making, governance or leadership at organisational level
  • Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding and high‑quality provision for all young people

You do not need to be a musician or have specific music education expertise – your insight into schools, leadership and system‑level thinking is what matters most.

Benefits and Commitments

  • Trustees serve on a voluntary basis, but reasonable out‑of‑pocket expenses can be reimbursed.
  • All Trustees are required to undertake safeguarding training and hold an enhanced DBS check.
