About Music Business Worldwide
Music Business Worldwide is the world's leading music industry trade publication. Now in our 11th year, we cover the global business for senior executives across labels, publishers, management companies, investment houses, concert promoters, streaming platforms, and beyond. We also run the prestigious annual Music Business UK Awards in London, with a pipeline of additional high-level events planned.
The Role
We are hiring an Operations & Events Executive to manage the day-to-day processes that keep MBW's commercial operations running smoothly from awards administration and subscriber management to accounts payable. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who thrives on keeping multiple workstreams organised and on track. You will ensure nothing falls through the cracks across our events, subscriptions, jobs board, and finance administration. The role is roughly 30% awards & events, 30% subscriptions & jobs board, 20% accounts payable, and 20% general coordination.
- Subscriptions & Jobs Board
- Day-to-day management of MBW+ subscriptions: renewals, onboarding, client queries, refund requests, and escalation where necessary
- Management of MBW's jobs board: handling client queries, troubleshooting listing issues, and guiding new clients through the posting process
- Subscription marketing support: creating promotional assets for newsletters and online
- Product improvement ideas and process refinement
- Awards & Events
- Administration of the Music Business UK Awards: managing the submissions pipeline, coordinating judging packs and voter communications, website content updates, timeline management working alongside an external event production manager who handles venue, catering, and AV
- Operational support for new MBW events as they launch
- Accounts Payable
- Chasing outstanding payments and reconciling accounts
- Coordination
- Key point of contact for awards nominees, voters, sponsors, and suppliers
- Keeping projects on track and deadlines met across all workstreams
- Briefing and managing freelancers (social media, design) including quality control and day-to-day oversight
Who You Are
- Experienced in operations, administration, or project coordination - you've managed processes end to end, not just assisted
- Exceptionally organised, able to juggle multiple workstreams without dropping the ball
- Comfortable with numbers - you're confident handling invoices, payments, and basic financial admin
- A strong communicator - you'll be corresponding with senior music industry figures
- Confident with digital tools: spreadsheets, form builders, project management software, AI tools, and basic design tools (e.g. Canva)
- Happy working autonomously in a small, fast-moving team
- Diplomatic and discreet - you'll handle confidential information
- Knowledge of or genuine interest in the music industry a plus but not essential
