Role: HR Officer

As an HR Officer you will partner with the HRBP Supply Chain team to provide the full range of HR services. This role is a 12‑month FTC. This role requires the successful candidate to be onsite 4 days. This position calls for a team player with a high degree of enthusiasm, coupled with the ability to achieve results and adapt to change in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be required to travel between various sites in Belfast.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for HR administration, including supporting resourcing, induction process, probation, off‑boarding, retirement, HR KPIs, resolving payroll queries and processing status changes to the HR Operation team.
  • Support and assist managers in employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary meetings and hearings. This will involve activities such as attending meetings, taking minutes and drafting letters.
  • Responsible for supporting and implementing engagement, communications and culture development initiatives on site.
  • Provide HR officer support for HR wide initiatives including any projects.
  • Provide advice on all HR policies to Managers and colleagues to promote consistent and fair application.
  • Co‑ordinate, plan and deliver various training interventions.
  • Assist in formulation of training needs from annual reviews, scheduling and coordinating all training courses, act as point of contact for employees with regard to training and development.
  • Support managers in matters such as performance management, absence management, problem solving, engagement etc.
  • Be a resource to individual employees as appropriate: provide advice and support as required, facilitate problem solving and be a point of contact.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with managers and colleagues.
  • Ensure accurate and proper record‑keeping of employee information in electronic and digital format.

Qualifications

  • Third level qualification in HR/Business related discipline or equivalent.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar HR role with exposure to employee relations and HR Operations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative and manage competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation with the ability to confidently and competently advise on the same.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and management skills with the ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels across the business, to get things done.
  • Strong coaching skills with the ability to build strong relationships and build trust with a variety of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • A team player with proven resilience and ability to adapt to change.
  • Full driving licence as there will be a requirement to travel to various sites.
  • Must be flexible in working hours as the role may require attendance on site for meetings on night shifts etc.

  • Experience in an HR officer role, ideally within a unionised logistics, retail or manufacturing environment.
