This role is key to supporting Musgrave Northern Ireland (NI) in the financial and reputation protection of the business. The role will have responsibility for all areas of Compliance across our Wholesale, Foodservice, Retail & Alcohol business in NI.
What you'll be doing:
- Overall responsibility for all aspects of compliance for the NI business across Wholesale, Foodservice, Retail & Alcohol.
- Responsibility for the implementation of all legislative changes e.g. DRS, AWRS, EPR etc.
- Overall responsibility for the management of any current and future compliance requirements for Musgrave NI.
- Ensure that the designed policy and procedures are updated for any changes to legislation.
- Engage internally with cross-functional teams on all elements of compliance and legislation to ensure accurate processes and records.
- Using knowledge to provide appropriate input to the decision-making processes in the business.
- Ensure all provision/transactions ongoing are compliant with the designed procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with all current and future impacted legislative requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
- Support Finance Dept. to ensure all other legal and statutory compliance requirements are met as required.
- Manage Compliance team, inclusive of Compliance Managers and Compliance Support Assistants.
- Work with compliance teams across the business, providing clear direction, standardized processes, and regular reviews to manage all levels of compliance.
- Demonstrate Musgrave leadership skills and values holding self and others accountable.
- Maximise the potential of team members to encourage and sponsor talent to ensure succession.
- Ongoing training and development of colleagues in relation to compliance.
- Communicate clearly and positively, to engage all colleagues and to ensure they understand their role in relation to compliance.
What we are looking for:
- Ideal candidates will have a business-related diploma or degree.
- Sound analytical skills coupled with excellent planning and organising abilities and a strong commercial customer focus are required in this role.
- Ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders to deliver for the business.
- Experience in dealing with NI Protocol compliance.
- Duty paid and Duty deferred knowledge.
- Compliance experience in a wholesale/retail/alcohol environment.
- Logical, thorough, and tenacious in approach to work with excellent attention to detail.
- Solid organisation and multi-tasking skills.
- A passion for driving standards and achieving targets.
- Excellent written and communication skills with strong report writing skills.
