As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland's most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our team as Marketing Manager for Drinks Inc in Belfast. Please note this is a contract role for approximately 9 to 12 months in duration.

Role Overview

The Marketing Manager plays a key role in driving brand visibility, customer engagement, and commercial performance across the Drinks Inc. AFT portfolio. This role leads trade marketing activity, manages promotional planning, collaborates closely with suppliers, and supports sales teams with best-in-class collateral and insight-led campaigns.

What you'll be doing:

  • Marketing Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the annual marketing plan aligned with business and sales objectives. Lead brand marketing across wines, spirits, beers, RTDs, mixers and ancillaries. Manage and deliver seasonal content and campaigns.
  • Digital & Content Marketing: Produce compelling digital content, including website copy, email campaigns, social media material, and promotional features. Oversee product listings, promotional pages, and brand presence across digital channels. Brief and manage agencies/design teams to deliver high-quality creative assets.
  • Trade Marketing & Promotional Support: Develop market-leading trade publications and promotional materials to support Drinks Inc. AFT as Northern Ireland's leading licensed wholesaler. Create POS materials, product sheets, wine lists, and customer-ready toolkits. Support NPD launches and category-focused campaigns to drive sales growth.
  • Brand, Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers and brand owners to plan co-funded activations and integrated marketing programmes. Manage the Drinks Inc. AFT marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation and strong ROI. Build brand awareness through cohesive PR activity, including trade press and sponsorship of key industry awards.
  • Insights, Category Expertise & Reporting: Monitor category trends. Analyse internal sales data and insights to identify opportunities and recommend product/promotional focus. Support bi-annual customer experience surveys in conjunction with Musgrave Insight & Innovation teams.
  • Events & Brand Activation: Deliver innovative, insight-driven events that showcase the Drinks Inc. AFT product range, especially the wine portfolio. Organise tastings, customer events, and supplier-led activations. Ensure strong brand execution and customer engagement at every event.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with the Drinks Inc. AFT management team to support the commercial plan. Coordinate with other Musgrave wholesale brands across the island of Ireland, particularly other alcohol brands and Musgrave MarketPlace. Support internal charity and community initiatives, including Drinks Inc. AFT fundraising activity for NICHS.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out other ad hoc tasks as required in support of the marketing and commercial strategy.

What we're looking for:

  • A 3rd level marketing/business qualification or relevant experience in lieu of same.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a marketing role, ideally within drinks or FMCG.
  • Strong customer focus and a clear understanding of customer needs across range, service, and experience.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and building effective internal/external relationships.
  • Experience working with agencies (PR, design, creative, photography).
  • Excellent copywriting skills and ability to produce clear, engaging communications.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and project management skills.
  • A self-starter attitude, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
