This role will be responsible for leading and supporting Retail Food Safety initiatives at store level with the company owned estate. The successful applicant will ensure that Food Safety & Quality activities within Company Owned stores are effectively managed and coordinated across the business thereby ensuring that Retail Food Safety standards are best in class at all times. The role includes specific operational activities as well as long term strategic development projects. Please note, this is a 12 month FTC What youll be Doing Management of Retail Food Safety Tracking ongoing Retail Food Safety Audit performance across SuperValu and Centra Branded stores Supporting stores in the development and implementation of a robust food safety management system and promoting Food Safety Culture Resolving audit issues & queries Liaison with 3rd party auditing body on scheduling matters Reporting performance against targets to Stakeholders Conduct scheduled and adhoc store visits / Food Safety Audits Support store in implementation of new food safety procedures or legislation changes Leading and supporting projects as required through the Food Safety & Quality- Retail, Consumer & Development Team Support of other team members across the Food Safety & Quality Team Food Safety Communications Providing Quarterly updates to Company Owned Store Managers on Food Safety Issues Producing and Issuing Food Safety Materials / updates Scheduling Regional Food Safety Workshops Providing training to store colleagues on a 1-2-1 basis on Food Safety matters Food Safety Development Enhancing and improving Food Safety Training solutions Effective Rollout of Retail IT Food Safety Solutions, Ensuring revamps and new Food Concepts are Food Safety Risk Assessed in advance of development and rollout Liaison with external partners on new concepts / developments / challenges in Retail Food Safety Development of Long Term Food Safety Standards as per 3 Year FSQ Strategy Liaison with MRPI and MWP on co-ordination of Food Safety Policies Team work Managing Company Owned Food Safety in co-ordination with the wider FS&Q team / retailers Participation in Food Safety & Quality team sessions at a group level What were looking for Min 3 years in Retail Operations with specific food safety elements Effective communication / influencing across all levels of business Adaptive to changing environmental conditions Logical, problem solving approach to issues where required Presentation skills People management skills Degree in Food Technology / Science advantageous What is nice to have Practical knowledge of food microbiology Knowledge and experience of retailer operations A Full Clean Driving License is essential for this role.
