This role is responsible for the development and implementation of the Musgrave Northern Ireland Value Strategy incorporating Own Brand, Base Price, Promotions, Added Value and Loyalty. Working closely with the Category Managers and their teams, as well as cross-functionally with the Supply Chain, Trading Finance, Sales and Marketing teams, the Value Strategy and Promotions Manager will play a key role in evolving our current value proposition to consistently deliver a winning market proposition for our brands.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead and shape the overall Value Strategy, ensuring that it remains relevant to consumer sentiment and shopper missions, and is aligned with the MNI Commercial Plan.
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with all Value, Pricing and Promotions Policies and Procedures.
  • Leverage One Musgrave opportunities by embracing an enterprise approach to all aspects of our Value Framework.
  • Support the development and delivery of the Own Brand strategy for NI.
  • Play an integral role within cross-functional teams to develop, manage and deliver the Retail Value Commercial Plan and Brand Planning calendar in line with agreed timelines including managing the content of the Promotional Execution Plan (PEP) and ensure the Trading element of the SIO process is delivered in full, and on time.
  • Manage all Value-related Service Now activity in line with agreed Trading Operations SLAs.
  • Contribute to key strategic projects, including initiatives such as Project Omega and the development of the MNI Loyalty App.
  • Build collaborative relationships with our Retail Partners and store colleagues to improve ways of working through regular store visits and ongoing engagement.
  • Represent Trading at key forums including Brand Planning, Steering, and Retailer Engagement sessions.
  • Provide updates on the Value agenda to the Management Team, Executive Team and Board as required.
  • Support Commercial Governance and Compliance reporting where required including management of the annual Promotions Budget and Own Brand reporting KPIs.
  • Provide relevant updates on upcoming value-related legislation and wider changes across the retail landscape.

What we are looking for:

  • 3 years+ of progressive experience in a fast-moving commercial / administrative role.
  • Proven people management and leadership experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and influencing skills and an ability to interact at all levels of the organisation and manage multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
  • Structured, organised, and methodical with excellent time management skills and a passion for delivery of continuous process improvement.
  • Proven commercial acumen and experience of translating consumer insight into innovative and differentiating market leading shopper propositions.
  • Highly numerate and strong on data analysis and interpretation underpinned by excellent IT skills including Excel & PowerPoint.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of the Northern Ireland, Ireland and UK Grocery industry a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of Trading / Commercial Promotional process and internal systems.
