About the role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Merchandiser to support Musgrave Retailers across Northern Ireland. The Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of new store openings, store refreshes, refurbishments and retail projects across Musgrave Northern Ireland. Responsible for implementing agreed store layouts, merchandising principles and planograms, the role ensures stores are presented to the highest standards and are fully aligned with brand requirements. Working closely with retailers, facilitators, and operations teams, the Merchandiser helps create commercially effective and customer-focused shopping environments that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of store layout and merchandising principles
  • Support new store openings, conversions and refresh projects across Company Owned & Independents
  • Support the implementation of store layouts, merchandising plans and retail concepts across new store openings, refurbishments and refresh projects
  • Execute merchandising principles and planograms to ensure consistency with company and brand standards
  • Install and maintain fixture layouts, category adjacencies, POS materials and in-store merchandising solutions
  • Work closely with retailers, facilitators, operations teams and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
  • Conduct pre-opening and post-opening merchandising reviews to ensure stores are set up for commercial success
  • Identify and resolve merchandising or layout issues quickly and effectively during project implementation
  • Monitor standards of retail compliance, customer presentation and overall store appearance
  • Provide merchandising coaching and guidance to retailers and store teams where required
  • Accurately report progress, issues and completion status of projects to the relevant management teams
  • Support various operational tasks as directed and undertake additional responsibilities necessary to support business needs

What we're looking for:

  • Based in Northern Ireland
  • Full, valid UK/EU driving licence
  • At least 3 years relevant proven track record in coordinating retail store openings and refreshes
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a retail, grocery or FMCG environment
  • Track record of delivering to agreed performance targets
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • High level of communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and inspire others
  • Strategic and innovative way of thinking
  • Strong commercial acumen and financial awareness
  • Customer Centric approach, a passion for retail and a commitment to delivering results through people
  • Understanding of the NI Convenience market
  • Food Safety Qualification, including working knowledge of HACCP
  • Knowledgeable on NI food safety legislation
  • Proven track record in a multi-site retail environment
  • Experience in supporting independent retailers / businesses
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
