Translator, Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales
Are you an experienced translator? Do you want to work on exciting and varied projects for a national organisation? Come and join Amgueddfa Cymru’s translation team to be a part of writing and sharing the stories of Wales.
You’ll be a part of the Translation and the Welsh Language team which is reponsible for translating, editing, proofreading and publishing content in Welsh to different audiences in print and digitally. The department is also responsible for Amgueddfa Cymru’s Welsh Language Policy; developing and celebrating our use of the Welsh language to the highest standard; ensuring compliance with the Welsh Language Standards and promoting the Amgueddfa’s Welsh-language culture.
Main responsibilites:
· Crafting Welsh-language text of the highest quality without supervision and to deadlines, including text for exhibitions, displays, websites, social media, subtitles, corporate content etc.
· Translate, proof-read and edit Welsh-language text.
· Combining working independently on translations and text with being a member of a committed and hard-working team
· Contribute to maintaining and developing a glossary of specialist terms.
Location:
Hybrid working / one of Amgueddfa Cymru’s sites (with the ability to travel to National Museum Cardiff from time to time).
