Electrician Guide, National Mining Museum – Big Pit in Hinckley

Electrician Guide, National Mining Museum – Big Pit in Hinckley

Hinckley Full-Time Remote
Museum

This is a great opportunity to bring your skills, knowledge and experience of working as an electrician into a new context. As a member of a small and dedicated team, you will be working alongside mechanical engineers to maintain, repair and keep the Big Pit open, working safely, and keeping the legacy of Coal Mining alive.

You will play a key role undertaking routine maintenance and reactive repairs to our electrical infrastructure, equipment and machinery, both above and below ground, ensuring that these are maintained to a high standard - effectively keeping a working mine open, safe and accessible for our staff, volunteers and visitors.

The successful applicant will also be developed to be a part of our Banksman, Winder Driver and Guide team - leading visits to the site and tours underground - this really is a varied and interesting role !

This is a rare opportunity to work in such a role and we understand that not everyone will have experience of working in a Mine (or in the heritage sector) - so we are looking for potential based relevant electrician experience - we will develop the successful candidate to match their potential.

This role is fixed term until 31 July 2028.

Interviews will be held on (either) 11 th or 12 th November
