Amgueddfa Cymru-Museum Wales seeks a Head of Conservation for the national collections of art, social history and natural sciences across its eight sites. The Head of Conservation will lead, inspire, and provide expert oversight for a talented team of preventive and remedial conservators to care for the collection and to support the museum’s priorities for day-to-day operations, long-term planning, special projects, and site developments.
The successful candidate will have a wide-ranging knowledge of current principles and best practice in conservation, a proven commitment to evidence-based approaches, experience of successfully leading a team of professionals, and a commitment to enabling the safety, accessibility and use of collections.
Candidates should have a postgraduate degree in a conservation discipline, membership of a relevant professional organisation and/or significant equivalent experience.
