The Visitor Experience team play a key role in how Amgueddfa Cymru warmly welcomes all its visitors. The team ensure engagement with collections and that the Museum is inviting and inspiring. They promote the charitable status of Amgueddfa Cymru, generating income by supporting our events, retail, food & beverage offering and encouraging donations, gift aid and Membership. As a member of the Amgueddfa Cymru team, you will play an important role in delivering our purpose and achieving our vision, ensuring we continue to enrich and inspire current and future generations.

Main Purpose of job

The Visitor Experience team work closely with the visitors and the collections at each museum. They deliver an exceptional visitor experience and provide a consistently high standard of visitor care. They have the knowledge and confidence to use collections to engage and inspire visitors, whilst also providing safety and security at the Museum. They also support Amgueddfa Cymru’s strategic priorities in terms of promoting learning for all, increasing income generation, and working collaboratively with all the wider museum teams to ensure the visitor has an excellent experience whilst visiting our museums.

The role will require team members to supervise Visitor Experience Assistants and Cleaning teams with the aim of protecting the collections and property of Amgueddfa Cymru and ensuring a positive image is presented. Duties could also include lighting domestic fires, car parking and ticketing duties, assisting with after-hours functions and tours, and supervising the site out of hours.
