London Museum is recruiting two Project Assistants (Archaeology) to join our Archaeological Archive team. This is a great opportunity for early-career applicants with experience of working with archaeological collections and an interest in collections management.
Overview
This role is part of our Archaeological Archive team and will be based in both our Hackney Store and London Museum Spaces as we undertake a project to better understand how London's past is represented in our collection.
Responsibilities
- Improve and expand archaeological collections data for objects and human remains.
- Create new digital assets and address documentation backlogs.
- Resolve legacy inventory issues and assist with new depositions.
- Facilitate research access.
- Operate within a warehouse environment, including confined spaces and roller racking, and wear full PPE where required.
Qualifications
- Background in archaeology with experience in cataloguing and collections management.
- Goal‑driven with the ability to work to deadlines in a project environment.
- Strong time‑management skills, able to manage own workload and maintain detail orientation on routine tasks.
- Effective team player who communicates well across the organisation.
