At the heart of London, our museum is a meeting place for stories - past, present, and future. We are here to enrich understanding and appreciation of the city and all its people, offering a home where the extraordinary and the everyday collide. From the bustling markets to hidden histories, from riotous invention to quiet reflection, we celebrate London in all its richness and complexity.

As Experience Manager, you are a visible leader on the public floor and a key driver of this ambition in action. Reporting to a Senior Experience Manager, you deliver the Experience strategy in live operation - holding responsibility for safety, leadership and the quality of the visitor experience every day.

Experience Managers lead from the floor, setting the pace, tone and standards of the Museum each day while ensuring our spaces are safe, welcoming and running smoothly. They support teams to respond confidently to everything from busy visitor flows to unexpected challenges, using sound judgement and clear leadership to keep the Museum moving with confidence and care. By turning big ambitions into everyday actions, they help create a visitor experience that feels inclusive, engaging and unmistakably London.

Previous experience of working in a museum is not required, and you do not need any specific academic qualifications. We are looking for someone with experience of leading and motivating teams in a fast-paced visitor-facing environment, who can confidently manage operations, support people to perform at their best and deliver an outstanding experience for visitors.

To apply, please click on 'Apply for this role' (bottom right hand side of this page). Applications are by application form with responses to three role-specific questions. The closing date for applications is Sunday 28 June 2026. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Tuesday 14 or Wednesday 15 July 2026.

If you are successfully shortlisted you will be invited to an interview where you will be asked questions to help us understand more about what you share in your application, and in particular to understand how you meet the essential person specification criteria for the role and demonstrate our museum behaviours. You will be asked to complete a short task as part of the selection process.
