London Museum is in the middle of an exciting transformation, moving from London Wall to Smithfield. The Conservation and Collections Care department is looking for a Textile Conservator to join our multi‑disciplinary team working on stabilising and packing objects and installation of the new galleries.
Responsibilities
- The main purpose of the role is to treat objects affected by a mould outbreak and prepare them for packing and move to our new stores.
- You will also be working with the installation team to support mounting and to prepare more complex textiles for packing and move.
Requirements & Qualifications
- We are looking for someone with experience of conserving textile objects within a heritage institution, who can confidently and independently solve conservation and collections care problems.
- The ideal candidate is a good team player who enjoys sharing ideas with others.
