Job Description: Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy and/or staff pharmacists, the pharmacy technician is responsible for general distribution activities, including but not limited to, computer order entry, medication order fill, preparation of intravenous admixtures, floor stock and Omnicell medication filling, medication rounds and drug ordering and procurement activities, or other duties as assigned.
PRN Status Clause: This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Additional Job Description
Education: High School Degree or GED is required.
Licenses/Registration: Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician by the State of South Carolina Board of Pharmacy (SCBOP) is required and must be maintained. If not certified at hire, must obtain and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT)) certification within 6 months of hire.
