Responsibilities: The RCP will be responsible for administering Cardiopulmonary therapeutic modalities to patients of all ages; maintain airways of patients with respiratory arrest, administer adequate ventilation via ambu or mechanical ventilation in the patients who cannot effectively ventilate for themselves. May be cross-trained to other duties within the CPS department but outside the normal curriculum of respiratory care (Ex. EEG, EKG, Stress testing, Sleep Studies).
PRN Status: This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Education and Licensure:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited college for Respiratory Therapy.
- License/Certification: Respiratory Therapist credentialed by the NBRC as an RRT or awaiting NBRC exam and possess a current South Carolina licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) with the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
