Allied Health Assistant – Activities Support Coordinator

Remuneration: $31.86 per hour + superannuation + salary packaging.

Location: Tingha Multi Purpose Service.

Employment Type: Temporary Part Time – Until May 2027.

Position Classification: Allied Health Assistant.

Hours Per Week: 12.

About The Role

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a qualified Allied Health Professional to support the care and wellbeing of our residents. You’ll play an important hands‑on role in both clinical and administrative tasks, helping ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the delivery of care by providing clinical and administrative assistance under professional supervision.
  • Assist with direct resident care, including routine evaluations, preparing residents for therapy, and providing information about services.
  • Deliver a variety of recreational activities aimed at promoting mental stimulation, engagement, and quality of life.
  • Contribute to assessing resident needs and help plan, prepare, and deliver therapeutic activity programs as directed by an Allied Health Professional.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as word processing, answering phone calls, photocopying, laminating, maintaining inventory records, and monitoring resource use.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, supervision, and performance review processes to ensure best practice.
  • Communicate effectively with your supervisor and other members of the healthcare team, providing timely written and verbal reports and observations to support care planning and treatment.

Additional Information

  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary part‑time vacancies.
