Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Transport Planner for our client based in Eurocentral, Motherwell.

Role Overview

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive Transport Planner to join a busy logistics operation. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating daily transport activities, ensuring the efficient movement of goods while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and operational performance. This varied role also provides the opportunity to support wider warehouse operations and deputise for the Transport Supervisor when required, working on a weekly rotating shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Carry out daily transport planning activities to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
\n
• Perform daily safety checks and maintain compliance with company procedures.
\n
• Prepare and maintain transport documentation and operational paperwork.
\n
• Support warehouse and yard operations as required.
\n
• Provide cover for the Transport Supervisor during periods of absence.
\n
• Make operational decisions to ensure the smooth running of the transport function.
\n
• Liaise with external transport providers to coordinate deliveries and collections.
\n
• Supervise vehicle loading and unloading activities.
\n
• Ensure drivers adhere to health and safety procedures and company policies.
\n
• Investigate loading discrepancies, breakages, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions where required.
\n
• Assist with additional duties to support the wider logistics operation.
\n

Skills & Experience

\n

\n
• Previous experience within a Transport Planner or transport coordination role.
\n
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
\n
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy.
\n
• Good numeracy and IT skills.
\n
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
\n
• Ability to make informed decisions and work independently when required.
\n
• Knowledge of transport operations and basic health and safety requirements is desirable.

Offering

• Salary £29,500 – £30,000 per annum.
\n
• Full-time, permanent position.
\n
• Weekly rotating shifts:
\n
• 5.30am – 2.30pm
\n
• 9.00am – 6.00pm
\n
