Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Finance professional for our client based in Central Scotland.

Role Overview: This role is a key position reporting to the Head of Finance within the finance function, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, managing all aspects of transactional finance, and supporting the month-end and year-end processes. The successful candidate will take ownership of key finance tasks and contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of financial operations, with a strong focus on compliance, controls, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including profit & loss and balance sheet reporting
  • Manage end-to-end processing of sales and purchase ledger transactions
  • Handle weekly, monthly, and payroll processing
  • Complete and submit VAT returns, and other HMRC submissions
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and process accruals and prepayments
  • Carry out credit control duties and perform supplier and customer reconciliations
  • Conduct intercompany reconciliations and resolve variances
  • Prepare trial balance and provide variance analysis and commentary
  • Process high volumes of financial data accurately and efficiently

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar finance or accounts role
  • Strong understanding of management accounts, payroll, and transactional finance
  • Experience with VAT, CIS, and HMRC reporting requirements
  • Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confident working with high-volume finance data and tight reporting deadlines
  • Proficient in accounting systems such as Sage 50, Sage Payroll, and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team

  • Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm (40 hrs per week with 1hr unpaid break)
