Murray Recruitment are recruiting an Associate Director HSEQ for our client based in the Central Belt of Scotland.
Role Overview
This pivotal leadership role is responsible for developing and implementing a strategic HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) framework across group operations. The successful candidate will spearhead initiatives to ensure compliance, continuous improvement, and best-in-class standards that support operational excellence and sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an HSEQ Strategy across the organisation with Board-level alignment.
- Establish and monitor HSEQ KPIs, reporting performance to the Board.
- Manage ISO and other accreditations, ensuring periodic re-accreditation.
- Lead and support internal and external audits, incident investigations, and client HSE reviews.
- Recruit, lead, and develop an effective HSEQ team.
- Drive compliance through training, communications, and proactive engagement.
- Represent the company at external HSEQ-related events and forums.
- Provide monthly and quarterly HSEQ performance updates and reports.
Skills & Experience
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in a senior HSEQ role.
- Proven ability to lead strategic HSEQ programmes and drive cultural change.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSEQ legislation and best practices; experience in the water sector preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Experience in leading audits and managing external relationships.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership capabilities.
