Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Logistics Nightshift Supervisor for our client based in Cumbernauld.
Role Overview: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced logistics professional to join a busy transport operation on a nightshift basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all transport activities during the nightshift, ensuring safety, compliance, and smooth operational handovers to the day team. This is a temp to perm position offering a vital role in ensuring overnight logistics performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and coordinate all nightshift vehicle movements, primarily HGVs, across the Scotland mainland.
- Use tracking systems to manage route adherence and scheduling.
- Act as the first point of contact for all transport-related matters during night hours.
- Respond to and resolve any operational issues, delays, or incidents during the shift.
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, company procedures, and health & safety policies.
- Maintain professional communication with drivers, depot staff, and partner networks.
- Compile detailed shift reports for day team handovers, including vehicle status, incidents, and updates.
- Investigate and document any incidents, accidents, or breaches of policy.
- Recommend improvements to enhance nightshift operations and support a culture of operational excellence.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in transport or logistics supervision, preferably within a nightshift or multi-site setting.
- In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, fleet management, and distribution planning.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficient in traffic management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and management.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and safety.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Offering: Temp to perm position with salary £38,000 – £40,000 per annum. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8pm – 6am. Competitive holiday entitlement. Opportunity to join a well-established logistics operation with ongoing support and development.
