Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Business Development Executive for our client based in the South Lanarkshire area.
Role Overview:
This is a newly created opportunity for a motivated business development professional to join a dynamic and growing company within the building services industry, specialising in refrigeration and air conditioning. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in generating new business and expanding the company’s presence across the retail, hospitality, and food service sectors. This position offers genuine career progression and the potential to establish and lead a sales team in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and build a database of prospective clients across retailers, hotels, pubs, clubs, and fast-food outlets within Lanarkshire and Glasgow.
- Develop and nurture strong relationships to generate enquiries for maintenance contracts and new design, supply, and installation projects.
- Collaborate with the Managing Director and design team to manage enquiries and ensure accurate quotations are produced.
- Present quotations to clients, follow up on proposals, resolve any queries, and negotiate to successfully close sales.
- Leverage existing client relationships to identify opportunities with multi-site operators and chains.
- Expand your professional network and actively raise the company’s profile across the target market.
- Operate independently to grow a new business function and support the development of a future sales team.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a service-based sales or business development role, ideally within the building services or HVAC sector (preferred but not essential).
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of the sales process.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and proactive approach.
- Commercially astute, with a keen eye for identifying and capitalising on business opportunities.
- Track record of building relationships and successfully closing sales.
- Full UK driving licence required.
