We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Specialist to join our client, a well-established local accountancy firm. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with the Senior Manager and tax team, ensuring the highest level of client service and tax compliance. The position involves managing a large portfolio of personal tax returns, providing tax planning advice, and handling sole trader accounts from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities :
- Client Service & Delivery : Work closely with the Senior Manager and team to ensure excellent client service and tax compliance.
- Tax Return Management : Oversee 500+ personal tax returns, including partnership tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Preparation & Submission: Complete and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Work Review: Review work completed by tax assistants, providing guidance and quality assurance.
- Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert tax advice and resolving queries.
- Sole Trader Accounts : Prepare and manage sole trader accounts from start to finish.
- Tax Planning & Advisory: Provide tax planning advice, including Capital Gains Tax (CGT) returns and payments on account.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: ATT/ACA/CTA qualified or working towards qualification.
- Experience: Personal tax background with strong tax compliance experience.
- Technical Skills: Experience handling CGT returns, payments on account, and tax planning.
- Communication & Management: Strong client management and communication skills.
- Organisation & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Systems: Experience using Digita (desirable)
Package:
- Salary: 35,000 – 45,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Flexible Working: Core hours 10am – 3pm, with a flexitime window of 7am – 7pm. Employees can carry over up to 10 hours per month.
- Holidays: 20 days of annual leave plus 10 public holidays.
- Pension: Standard
