Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Repairs Manager for our client based in Glasgow.

Role Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Repairs Manager to lead the delivery of reactive maintenance, planned works, and small projects within a busy and growing organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing operational performance, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of all reactive maintenance, planned works, and small works projects.
  • Oversee and support operatives to ensure contractual obligations and project deadlines are achieved.
  • Develop and implement effective project management strategies to optimise workflow and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, materials, and inventory.
  • Liaise with internal departments to identify and prioritise maintenance requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are consistently met.
  • Prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Construction Phase Plans (CPPs) for smaller projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Obtain quotations and coordinate subcontractors for specialist works.
  • Monitor contract performance and oversee the successful delivery of projects.
  • Cost, programme, and manage smaller works contracts.
  • Chair project progress meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within a Repairs Manager, Contracts Manager, or similar maintenance management role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the construction and maintenance sector.
  • Experience within housing maintenance is preferred but not essential.
  • Valid SMSTS qualification is essential.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with experience managing multi-trade projects.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
