Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Finance professional for our client based in Central Scotland.
Role Overview: This role is a key position reporting to the Head of Finance within the finance function, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, managing all aspects of transactional finance, and supporting the month-end and year-end processes. The successful candidate will take ownership of key finance tasks and contribute to the overall efficiency and accuracy of financial operations, with a strong focus on compliance, controls, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss and balance sheet reporting
- Manage end-to-end processing of sales and purchase ledger transactions
- Handle weekly, monthly, and payroll processing
- Complete and submit VAT returns, and other HMRC submissions
- Maintain fixed asset registers and process accruals and prepayments
- Carry out credit control duties and perform supplier and customer reconciliations
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations and resolve variances
- Prepare trial balance and provide variance analysis and commentary
- Process high volumes of financial data accurately and efficiently
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Strong understanding of management accounts, payroll, and transactional finance
- Experience with VAT, CIS, and HMRC reporting requirements
- Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident working with high-volume finance data and tight reporting deadlines
- Proficient in accounting systems such as Sage 50, Sage Payroll, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider finance team
