SITE PRODUCTION MANAGER Murray Steel Products is one the UK's leading stockist of commercial grade steel plate, profiles, and structural sections.We now have an opportunity for a process driven and detail orientated Site Manager to manage the busy Scunthorpe operations team. The successful candidate will manage the daily function of the Scunthorpe site, Murray Steels Products, whilst working to develop the site's capability to accommodate future growth. Additionally, you will work with site and office supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and complete all customer orders correctly and to strict deadlines. Key Tasks: · General site management, maintenance, site improvement and development. · To manage workflow and manpower to ensure handling and production targets, as agreed with the Operations Manager / Director, are consistently achieved. · Health and Safety and Quality Management · Warehouse process and productivity management including production planning. · To ensure operating procedures comply with current health and safety legislation and to minimise accident rates. · Maintain stock integrity, for goods inward and outward, whilst ensuring products & locations are clearly identifiable · To liaise with internal departments to ensure that a high level of customer service is always maintained. · Ensure good housekeeping practices and that all areas are maintained in a safe and tidy manner. Qualifications and Experience: · Experience of general site management, maintenance and site development. · Previous experience of implementing continuous improvement techniques. (lean, Six Sigma, TQM training) within the warehouse/production environment would be an advantage. · Extensive knowledge of production planning for processing. · Experience of loading processes for steel bars with OHC, Side Loader and FLT. · Must have previously supervised an intensive semi-production, yard and warehouse operation. · Stock control experience would be an advantage. Key Skills: · Leadership ability. · Good basic understanding of Health and Safety requirements. · Good time management. · Excellent communication skills Salary depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
