SITE PRODUCTION MANAGER Murray Steel Products is one the UK's leading stockist of commercial grade steel plate, profiles, and structural sections. We now have an opportunity for a process driven and detail orientated Site Manager to manage the busy operation function and operations team at our Middlesbrough site. The successful candidate will manage the daily function of the Middlesbrough site, Murray Steel Products, whilst working to develop the sites capability to accommodate future growth. Additionally, you will work with site and office supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency and complete all customer orders correctly and to strict deadlines. Key Tasks: KPI production for both management reporting and for driving productivity and cost management performance Ensure production performance meets or exceeds internal and customer expectations, including DOTIF and key KPIs. Provide KPI reporting and operational updates for Senior Management, Directors and the MD. Hold overall responsibility for on-site HR activities, including staffing, performance and compliance. Attain and hold accreditation to 9001, 14001, 45001 & CE 1090. Maintain site facilities, equipment, maintenance schedules and operational readiness. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient business operations. Lead cost-improvement initiatives and drive site-wide improvement activities. Direct, guide and steer the business in line with strategic priorities. Ensure work is processed as per schedule of work and works order Improve utilisation of plant and machinery through more efficient material handling, stock layout and process flow, recommending where required capital expenditure projects Qualifications and Experience: Experience of general site management, maintenance and site development Steel Profiling knowledge (plasma, gas, laser, cad and any related processes) Familiar with and knowledge of continuous improvement techniques . (lean, Six Sigma, TQM training) within the warehouse/production environment would be an advantage Must be able to demonstrate having produced KPIs for both management reporting and for the improvement of productivity and performance HR activities, including staffing, performance and compliance Previous experience of leading change management programs and team building Cost Management responsibility Key Skills: Communication skills man management skills Leadership ability. Stock management & control Knowledge of Lifting & Slinging Techniques Knowledge of loading vehicles Good basic understanding of Health and Safety requirements. Commercial Awareness Well-developed management skills including knowledge of disciplinary procedures, motivational techniques and staff appraisal systems. Able to work on own initiative with minimum of supervision IT literate Salary depending on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
