The Design Manager is responsible for leading and managing design teams in the development of non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process for water and wastewater projects from concept to completion.
- Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
- Oversee the design teams performance, ensuring projects are completed within budget and deadlines.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve design challenges.
- Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in water engineering.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is preferred.
- Proven experience in managing design projects in the water industry.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modelling tools.
- Strong knowledge of water industry processes
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience overseeing sub-contractors/consultancy work.
- Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and digital engineering technologies.
