The Design Manager is responsible for leading and managing design teams in the development of non-infrastructure water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design process for water and wastewater projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensure designs comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
  • Oversee the design teams performance, ensuring projects are completed within budget and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to resolve design challenges.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and best practices in water engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing design projects in the water industry.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modelling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of water industry processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience overseeing sub-contractors/consultancy work.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and digital engineering technologies.
