We have been retained by a leading pan-European real estate finance provider as they expand their Portfolio Management, Recoveries, and Restructuring departments to support their recent territorial expansion. Are you an analytical and proactive professional with experience in portfolio management and credit risk? We are seeking a talented Senior Associate to help oversee a diverse loan portfolio, support risk mitigation, and contribute to the management of loans with emerging risk issues or in default.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in regular portfolio reviews, providing insights and recommendations on loan performance and risk exposure.
- Collaborate with deal teams to assess credit risk and maintain portfolio quality.
- Undertake site visits and meetings with borrowers and their advisers across the UK & Europe.
- Support senior management in identifying emerging risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Prepare financial models and investment committee reports.
- Execute loan extensions and restructures, working with legal counsel.
- Assist in recovery strategies for distressed cases.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring timely communication and proactive issue management.
- Ensure risk systems and files are always up to date, including cash management reporting.
- Prepare and present portfolio performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in development finance.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a relevant professional qualification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in portfolio management or credit risk management, ideally within development finance.
- Strong knowledge of loan monitoring, risk management, and financial analysis.
- Comfortable with site visits, including construction sites and distressed assets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflict and difficult conversations.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and loan management systems.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate and address issues promptly.
