Clermont Trust is creating a new Group Head of Compliance and Risk position to provide strategic, operational and commercial leadership of compliance across the Group. Reporting to senior leadership, this role will have full accountability for defining and delivering the Group's compliance strategy, strengthening operating models across jurisdictions, and ensuring compliance operates as an effective enabler of the business. This is a highly visible role requiring a combination of regulatory judgement, operational execution and leadership across a multi‑jurisdictional environment. The successful candidate will play a central role in establishing a more consistent, pragmatic and scalable approach to compliance across the organisation.
Compliance Leadership and Strategy- Set and own the Group compliance strategy, ensuring alignment between regulatory requirements, risk appetite and commercial objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing clear, balanced and practical guidance on complex compliance matters.
- Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks and translate these into structured, actionable plans.
- Lead a review of the existing compliance operating model across jurisdictions.
- Design and implement a consistent, coherent approach to compliance delivery and escalation.
- Provide oversight on the interpretation and application of regulatory requirements across the Group.
- Ensure compliance decisions are applied consistently and proportionately, reflecting both regulatory expectations and business context.
- Encourage adoption of technology and data‑led approaches to improve accuracy, visibility and control.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity and informed decision‑making.
- Significant senior‑level compliance experience within fiduciary, trust, private client or similarly regulated environments.
- Proven experience operating across multi‑jurisdictional structures.
- Strong track record of improving or transforming compliance operating models, processes or frameworks.
- Sound regulatory judgement, with the ability to apply requirements in a practical and proportionate way.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence and challenge senior decision‑makers.
- A highly visible, Group‑level leadership role with the opportunity to shape a core business function.
