Are you a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with proven UK water/wastewater experience? Join a growing multidisciplinary team delivering treatment and network infrastructure projects across the South.

The Role

  • Lead mechanical design delivery from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction/commissioning support.
  • Own design packages, review technical outputs and coach engineers to ensure safe, compliant, buildable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design for treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines and associated assets.
  • Produce/review calculations, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
  • Review and approve work from engineers and CAD designers.
  • Develop solutions for pumps, pipework, valves, rotating equipment and process plant.
  • Coordinate with civil, process and EICA teams to deliver integrated designs.
  • Lead/support client meetings, design reviews and technical workshops.
  • Ensure compliance with BS EN, WIMES, DSEAR, Eurocodes and relevant UK regulations.
  • Support site visits, inspections and commissioning across the South (occasional nationwide travel).
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement within the mechanical discipline.

About You

  • 7+ years' mechanical design experience in UK water/wastewater projects.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar); CEng or working towards desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in treatment and network infrastructure.
  • Confident using AutoCAD and mechanical design/modelling tools (Revit advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of H&S and regulatory compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Able to manage workload, prioritise and deliver design packages to time/cost/quality.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable presenting and defending design decisions.

Working Pattern

A mix of office-based, hybrid and site work with travel across the South of England and occasional nationwide projects.
