Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to lead the engineering design of capital projects within the water and wastewater sector. The role involves managing multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions from early concept through to construction and handover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate engineering design delivery for infrastructure projects.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance processes.
  • Engage with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to align design goals.
  • Oversee design planning including scope, cost, risk, and resource management.
  • Drive innovation, sustainability, and efficiency throughout the design process.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership within a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Engineer with a degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong background in water and wastewater treatment design and delivery.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder major design projects in the water industry (ideally non-infrastructure).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
