Are you a Structural Engineer with experience in wastewater treatment or civil infrastructure projects? Looking to play a hands-on role in delivering sustainable treatment upgrades and asset resilience schemes?
We are seeking a Structural Engineer (or Senior Structural Engineer) to support the design and delivery of wastewater treatment projects across the UK, typically up to £5m in value.
The Role
You will take ownership of structural design packages for treatment-related schemes, working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams. Projects include package treatment plant installations, refurbishment of existing structures and associated civil works.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design packages from concept through to detailed design
- Deliver structural designs for treatment upgrades, refurbishments and new installations
- Produce structural calculations, design reports, specifications and construction drawings
- Apply Eurocodes and UK design standards to water sector projects
- Collaborate with contractors to develop practical, buildable solutions
- Attend site visits to undertake surveys, assess buildability and respond to construction queries
- Support sustainable, low-carbon design approaches including repurposing existing assets
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure safe, timely delivery
About You
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- 2-5 years' structural design experience (water/wastewater preferred; wider infrastructure considered)
- Working towards or Chartered (CEng) with ICE or IStructE desirable
- Proficient in TEDDS, Robot, Revit, AutoCAD or similar structural design software
- Strong understanding of Eurocodes and UK standards
- Practical, solution-focused approach with good buildability awareness
- Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with clients and site teams
Working Pattern
A mix of office-based design, hybrid working and regular site visits across southern England. Based from Fleet, Hampshire.
