Working pattern: Hybrid, full time

Lead the delivery of major capital water projects as part of one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure alliances. This is a Project Manager role with full lifecycle responsibility, overseeing complex programmes from initial need through to construction, handover and warranty management. You will drive safe, compliant, commercially sound delivery while building high-performing teams capable of solving complex engineering challenges across major infrastructure schemes.

As Project Manager - Major Water Projects, you will take ownership of large-scale construction programmes within the water sector, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and regulatory standards. You will operate strategically, translating programme-level objectives into practical delivery plans and leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial and planning functions.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead delivery of major capital projects up to £100m across the full project lifecycle
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety standards and governance processes
  • Champion a Zero Harm culture through audits, peer reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Build and develop high-performing project teams across engineering, commercial and operational disciplines
  • Translate programme strategy into clear deliverables, ensuring teams understand priorities and expectations
  • Maintain oversight of project scope, construction delivery, handover and post-completion warranty management
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial and Planning teams to manage budgets, forecasts and resources
  • Ensure solutions are safe, commercially viable and aligned to project and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver key project milestones including Project Rehearsals and Fit for Assembly
  • Promote collaborative working across alliance partners to drive innovation and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
  • Proven Project Manager experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects (£30m+)
  • Experience within the water sector desirable, though major civil engineering or infrastructure backgrounds considered
  • Strong knowledge of CDM regulations, Health & Safety compliance and construction best practice
  • IOSH qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of NEC contracts (Option C preferred)
  • APMP qualification desirable
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial, operational and technical priorities
