Core Responsibilities
- Acts as Senior Project Manager on large, complex and high-risk projects, programmes or frameworks, either leading delivery or managing key components within a wider delivery team, ensuring outcomes are achieved to agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
- Leads and coordinates large, multi-disciplinary project teams to meet objectives efficiently and effectively.
- Works closely with project teams to ensure client requirements are clearly understood and accurately reflected in project outputs.
- Holds accountability for commercial and financial performance, including cost control, forecasting and ensuring invoicing aligns with contractual arrangements.
- Manages day-to-day delivery across the full project, programme or framework lifecycle, ensuring schedules, outputs and milestones are achieved.
- Maintains clear, regular and effective communication with both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Prepares robust project estimates, budgets, programmes and delivery plans for both bids and live projects.
- Plans and prioritises own workload to meet agreed deadlines, proactively managing and communicating competing priorities.
- Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of tools, processes and ways of working to support effective project delivery.
- Ensures organisational standards, governance and quality requirements are implemented and consistently applied across assigned projects.
- Supports the development of less experienced team members through mentoring, coaching and day-to-day guidance.
- Contributes to business growth by building strong client relationships, promoting repeat work and delivering high levels of customer service.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments.
- Demonstrable commercial awareness and financial management capability within a project delivery context.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders and manage client expectations.
- Track record of delivering projects successfully against commercial, performance and business objectives.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior team members.
- High level of learning agility, with a proactive approach to professional development and continuous improvement.
- Extensive experience leading and delivering highly complex, multi-disciplinary projects in a Senior Project Management role.
