We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Engineer to take a lead role on the Manor Road NOS7 & NOS8 remediation packages. This is a complex civil engineering scheme involving the repair and remediation of two bridge structures and five trunk sewer barrels, spanning both rail and highway interfaces. The works are currently in design phase, offering a genuine opportunity to be involved from early concept through to delivery on site.
You will play a key role in developing innovative engineering and temporary works solutions, leading a team of engineers and sub agents, and driving safe, high-quality and commercially successful delivery. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Agent, commercial and planning teams, and act as a key interface with the client and supply chain.
Senior Engineer Role- Overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project packages
- Lead and manage a team of engineers to deliver works safely, on programme and to specification
- Ensure all project documentation is produced and implemented (RAMS, ITPs, permits, consents)
- Manage pre-construction reviews and ensure all stakeholder approvals are in place
- Maintain and manage the construction programme, progress reporting and short-term lookaheads
- Support procurement of specialist subcontractors and temporary works designers
- Oversee the development, procurement and delivery of multiple complex temporary works schemes
- Maximise commercial performance, identifying variations, opportunities and risk mitigation
- Chair weekly site meetings and produce accurate internal and client reports
- Maintain high standards of HSQE compliance across all site activities
- Day-to-day liaison with the client's operations team
- Lead on package planning, consents and permitting
- Ensure client requirements and expectations are consistently met or exceeded
- Populate and manage the project cost plan
- Maintain detailed site records and diaries
- Identify cost pressures, savings opportunities and risks, escalating appropriately
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly reports in line with company procedures
- Strong background in civil engineering within the water / rail sector
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, design management, programme and risk management
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
- Valid CSCS card
- Proven ability to lead teams and solve technically challenging problems
- Strong communication, leadership and mentoring skills
- Drives high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
- SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely
- Temporary Works Co-ordinator
- Confined space training
- Lift supervisor/co-ordinator
- Proven track record delivering similar complex civil engineering packages
