An experienced Quantity Surveyor is required to support the delivery of water and utilities-focused civil engineering projects based from St Albans. Projects range from £200k to £10m+, delivered under NEC contracts within a self-delivery model.
You will provide hands-on commercial management across live projects, working closely with delivery teams to ensure strong cost control, accurate forecasting and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities- Monthly CVRs, cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Cost control and commercial planning across multiple projects
- Preparation and submission of applications for payment to final account
- Subcontract procurement, negotiation, valuation and financial management
- Management of NEC contracts, including cost reimbursable and target cost
- Administration of change control and compensation events
- Identification and realisation of commercial opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with internal commercial processes
- HND / HNC / Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
- Working towards RICS membership
- Proven civil engineering experience, ideally within water or utilities
- Strong NEC contract experience (cost reimbursable and target cost)
- Experience working for a self-delivery contractor
- Confident producing CVRs, forecasts and cost analysis
- Structured and progressive career history
- Strong IT, numerical and communication skills
- Experience on water or utilities frameworks
- CSCS card
- Estimating experience
- Salary £60,000 - £75,000
