We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Digital Skills Tutor to play a crucial role in the quality assurance and delivery of the WMCA Digital Divide Project, aimed at reducing digital exclusion across the West Midlands. This position focuses on supporting residents to develop essential digital skills and confidence in using technology, as well as supporting Digital Skills Tutors to maintain the standards of teaching and assessment required by the contract with guidance from the Operations and Development Executive.

We work collaboratively with public, private and voluntary organisations, educational settings and other partners to design and deliver sustainable innovative solutions to improve the lives of children, families, young people and adults from early years to end of life care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised digital skills training to digitally excluded residents through one-to-one and small group sessions
- Create and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for all learners
- Support the achievement of project targets, particularly the 60% progression rate to accredited learning
- Track and report learner progress through the Individualised Learner Record (ILR)
- Work collaboratively with Adult Community Learning providers to facilitate learner progression
- Work with the delivery team to ensure that standards in teaching, learning, and assessment are met, including surveying participants to gauge the quality of delivery
- Maintain and develop high quality learning materials and resources for use across the project
- Conduct initial assessments to identify learners' digital skills needs and barriers
- Design and deliver tailored digital skills training sessions
- Support learners to use NHS apps and other essential online services
- Create and adapt learning materials for different skill levels
- Maintain accurate records of all learning activities and outcomes
- Contribute to monthly reporting requirements
- Develop case studies demonstrating learner progress
- Provide ongoing support and encouragement to learners
- Implement safeguarding and data protection procedures
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
- Complete quality audits of teaching, learning and assessment
- Review the effectiveness of teaching, learning and assessment practice, recommend improvements, and implement and monitor improvements where agreed
- Willingness to travel across the Birmingham delivery area
Qualifications
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. ICT)
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent
- Teaching qualification (PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2 years' experience delivering digital skills or similar training to adults
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults and learners facing barriers to learning
- Experience creating learning plans, tracking learner progress and maintaining accurate records
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online learning platforms
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection and equality, diversity and inclusion
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A patient, supportive and learner-focused approach
- Willingness to travel across the Birmingham delivery area
