We're an independent acoustic consultancy building something a bit different in Manchester, modern, tech‑forward, and enjoyable to work in. We're now looking for our next acoustic consultant to grow with us. This is a rare chance to get exposure to the full breadth of the discipline from day one. No being parked on one report type for two years. You'll work directly alongside the founder, who spent a decade at established UK consultancies before setting up Murray Acoustics, so the mentorship and support are real.
What you'll work on:
- Building acoustics: BS 8233 / ProPG residential design, sound insulation testing, Approved Document E & O MCS 020 ASHP assessments and a steady mix of commercial, residential and leisure schemes
- Site surveys, measurement, modelling and reporting, owning projects end to end as you develop
We're looking for someone who has:
- A degree in acoustics, physics, engineering or a related field (or relevant early‑career experience)
- A genuine interest in acoustics and a willingness to get stuck in across project types
- Solid technical fundamentals and clear written communication
- A clean UK driving licence (site work)
What you'll get:
- Direct, hands‑on mentorship and a clear path to MIOA and beyond
- Full support and funding towards the IOA Diploma and professional development
- Real variety and real ownership; your work matters here from week one
- A modern, efficient setup (we lean heavily on smart tooling and automation, so you spend your time on engineering, not admin)
If you want to develop quickly, see the whole picture, and help shape a growing practice rather than slot into a machine, we'd love to hear from you. Send your CV to admin@murrayacoustics.com
