Murphy is recruiting for a Temporary Works - Design Engineer to work with Murphy Applied Engineering based out of our Scotland office.

Our engineering teams represent a multi-disciplined range of skills, adding value across all sectors, and pushing the boundaries of digital construction, engineering innovation, and design to deliver sustainable and economical solutions.

You will provide safe, economic, and constructible solutions within project timeframes for the company\'s Business Units across sectors including transportation, water, energy, and power.

A day in the life of a Murphy Temporary Works Design Engineer

  • Undertaking engineering designs on a wide range of temporary works schemes across Murphy projects.
  • Representing the MAE team in project meetings.
  • Conducting site visits as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to produce optimal solutions for temporary works problems.

About you

  • HND/Bachelor/Master\'s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and relationship-building desire.
  • Open-minded approach to solving engineering challenges.
  • Keen to visit sites and offices across the country.
