Overview
Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Quality Advisor to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with United Utilities, as part of the AMP8 programme.
Murphy is a long-standing delivery partner to leading water clients across the UK and Ireland, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, SES Water, Bristol Water, South East Water, and Uisce Éireann, where we operate over 25 facilities under full DBOM contracts.
A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quality Advisor
Responsibilities
- Be a champion for the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.
- Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
- Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and provide advice as required.
- Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Quality Plans.
- Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces to verify compliance with Company Policy, Procedures and other requirements.
- Review internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans.
- Promote the reporting of nonconformances and manage, provide advice on closing out actions.
- Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Quality Management and Quality function for reporting.
- Review Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Quality Management.
- Provide support to Project teams in the development of Quality Plans.
- Produce Quality plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.
Qualifications
- Experience within a Quality role.
- Relevant Quality Membership (CQI) would be beneficial along with ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification.
- MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project).
- Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard.
- Chartered Quality Professional – Member (CQP MCQI) advantageous.
- Previous experience within an Engineering or Construction environment.
