Overview
Murphy is recruiting for a Senior Procurement Manager to work with Energy on GGP. Our business delivers Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects and supports groundbreaking transmission and distribution projects in multiple countries, with a focus on energy security and the energy transition.
We offer a wide range of services including design, construction and commissioning, and we strive to innovate while maintaining sustainable practices and strong relationships with major energy providers.
Responsibilities
- Deliver procurement of key materials and subcontract packages for natural resource projects, including High Pressure Pipelines, Compressor stations and Above Ground Installations (AGIs).
- Develop and implement Procurement & Supply Chain Strategy and manage Supply Chain Management activities.
- Lead Operational Procurement for key materials and subcontract packages.
- Procure mechanical and electrical equipment (pipework, valves, fittings, skid units, gas flow and conditioning equipment, electrical, control and instrumentation) as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
- Report into Head of Procurement – Energy to facilitate business unit level procurement and supply chain management.
- Travel to project sites as required; role based between a regional office with regular site visits.
- Manage project procurement requirements including procurement schedule and drafting Invitations to Tender.
- Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
- Manage supply chain relationships and the Expediting process from order placement to delivery to site.
- Monitor quality and QA systems adherence; negotiate subcontract and purchase order terms and conditions (e.g., NEC4, FIDIC, ICHEME).
- Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers and internal stakeholders; source, evaluate, approve and select new supply chain partners meeting quality standards and schedules.
- Monitor supply chain workload and financial status to manage performance and risk.
Qualifications
- A relevant degree and/or transferrable industry expertise.
- MCIPS or equivalent
- Experience on collaborative projects with multiple companies is desirable.
- Well-developed organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Ability to present and communicate complex commercial data clearly.
- Ability to self-motivate and deliver results through team-based working.
- Travel to project sites as required; role based between a regional office with regular visits to project sites.
