Murphy is recruiting for a Materials Coordinator to work with the Natural Resources team on the Peterborough Compressor Station Project. We maintain, operate, modify, design, construct and commission new energy networks and facilities across four countries; guiding our customers through the challenges of the energy transition and supporting their commitments to achieve net zero emissions. We provide safe and reliable specialist services as a trusted Engineering, Procure, Fabrication, Maintain and Decommissioning (EPFCM&D) partner. This includes work with onshore and offshore oil, gas pipelines, gas diversions and renewable energies. This is a process-driven role which will require a keen attention to detail, and the ability to follow an approved procedure, to ensure compliance with Client requirements / Specifications.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining liaison with the Technical Materials Manager and Project PM relating to all aspects of ordering materials, manufacturing status and deliveries to site.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure programmes are met and material issues are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Ensure the project controls are complete, such as review of project MTO, population of Material Schedule and completing isometric material issue, to fall in line with production schedules.
- Liaising with the project team to ensure all materials are available for production, and if any identified materials shortage or supply issues occur, they are flagged appropriately to best ensure progress.
- Check all material receipts and certificates to ensure they meet applicable specification/s and purchase order, including both Murphy procured and free issue materials.
- During busy periods there may be additional personnel employed to aid works, and supervision may be required to ensure all activities are covered.
- Maintain the Material Schedule throughout the life of the project, ensuring all relevant materials are included, both free-issue and Murphy procured, and compiling a list of surplus materials once the project is complete.
- Accurately track all materials in and out of the schedule and use the approved forms to receipt and issue.
- Ensure all materials are stored suitably, in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, and that any non-compatible materials are well segregated (e.g., Carbon and Stainless Steel).
- Ensure Material Traceability is maintained throughout the project lifecycle and certification is checked and held on the Sharepoint Drive.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Knowledge of the wider organisation and how it functions within the external environment.
- Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Oil and Gas or relevant related Piping Materials experience.
- Good office skills (Word etc.).
- Very good Excel Skills.
